This is a "Tenmizo Gamaguchi" in bunko leather using Haibara's design.
The "Gamaguchi" was born in the European social circles from the 16th to 18th century,
In the early Meiji period (1868-1912), it was brought back to Japan by a visiting European merchant, and became popular in Japan.
The name "Gamaguchi" comes from its resemblance to a toad with its mouth open.
The leather of "Tenmizo Gamaguchi" is made of stamped white leather and hand-worked by long-established craftsmen with a history of more than 90 years.
The leather is hand-colored one by one by craftsmen of a long-established company with a history of more than 90 years, and then aged with lacquer.
